Loreena McKennitt Award

​

The Loreena McKennitt Award was created in 1995, by the Morden Chamber of Commerce, to honour Loreena and the success she has achieved.  Growing up in Morden, Loreena participated in the Morden Festival of the Arts in her youth, so the Chamber of Commerce decided it was fitting to work with the Festival to present the award annually. 

 

The Morden Festival of the Arts took over managing and presenting the award in 2013.  The Loreena McKennitt Award is one that all participants in the Morden Festival of the Arts aspire to receive, as it is recognition of their participation in the Festival and all of the hard work they have dedicated to performance preparation.  The Festival committee presents this award at our Highlights Concert, which takes place in late April/early May each year.
